It is time, once again, to write a blog about either hating on the Apple company or loving Nintendo since I was born. Will I ever stop this madness? I don’t know. Maybe. Either way, this week’s blog, I’m taking a break from despising Apple and talk about Nintendo on how last week, the company announces their new game console!
Last week, Nintendo finally announces and reveals their latest game system called the Nintendo Switch. The Switch is the new name that replaces the “NX” codename the company has been working under. Now that has been finally revealed, it changed to the name “Switch”. We do not know specific features it holds from us yet, but we do know a glimpse of it. If you own or at least know what a Wii U is, well imagine that the Wii U got itself an “upgrade”. Not only now you can take the game from the comfort of your living room to the outdoors, you can also remove the controllers that are connected to the tablet and play it as 1 to 2 players.
Satoru Iwata, former president of Nintendo, and his game developer team have been working on this project since February 2015. He wanted to make it revolutionary, just as he did with the Nintendo Wii and the Nintendo DS. But unfortunately, Iwata could no longer work on the project because he passed away with cancer on July 2015. The company and the public were devastated to hear the news.
But that didn’t stop the company from finishing the project. Nintendo finally reveals the new system on October 2016 and I cannot wait to get it when till it finally releases. The Nintendo Switch will be released in March 2017 and I hope I get to be first in line to get it. As I have said in my previous blogs, I fully support Nintendo, whether there marketing will be a success or a downfall. I wish I could talk about more about Iwata, but I’m sure he would be proud of his company.
